Full description
SARACEN® sharpening stone is a double-sided whetstone with a grit of 1000/6000 for home knife maintenance. The coarser side (1000 grit) restores the shape of a dull or slightly damaged edge, while the finer side (6000 grit) refines it to a keen, long-lasting sharpness for everyday cutting.
Regular sharpening is more important for Damascus steel, which SARACEN® knives are made from, than for ordinary stainless steel. The steel’s layered structure holds an edge for a long time, but once it becomes dull, it needs care tailored to it. The whetstone is suitable for SARACEN® knives and most other household kitchen knives.

- Double-sided 1000/6000 grit – repairs and refines the edge with a single stone

Frequently asked questions
How often should I sharpen my knife?
It depends on how often you use it. For knives you use every day, sharpening once every few weeks works well, or as soon as you notice the edge is no longer cutting smoothly.
Is the sharpener suitable for knives other than SARACEN®?
Yes, you can use the sharpener on most ordinary kitchen knives, not just the SARACEN® range.
What is the difference between the 1000 and 6000 sides?
The 1000-grit side restores the shape of a dull or slightly damaged edge. The 6000-grit side refines the edge to a keen, long-lasting sharpness for everyday cutting.
The SARACEN® sharpening stone is as essential to a knife as a cutting board – it keeps the edge in the same condition as when the SARACEN® knife came out of the box.
